How it works
The whole point of Zentra Tax is that you stop thinking about MTD. Here is exactly what happens, start to finish.
1A 20-minute onboarding call
One call, by phone or video, wherever you are in the world. We confirm your income streams, your properties and how you bank. Then we register as your agent with HMRC, which lets us file on your behalf.
If you own property jointly, we set both owners up in the same call. If you live abroad, nothing changes — the whole service is remote.
2You forward statements. That's the job.
Each month, forward your bank statements by email. Got a paper receipt? Snap it on your phone and send it over.
There is no software to learn, no spreadsheet to maintain, no categories to choose. If something looks odd, we ask you a plain-English question — “was the £240 at Screwfix for the Bristol flat?” — and that is the extent of your admin.
3We file everything, on time, every time
We categorise every transaction into HMRC-compliant digital records, file each quarterly update before its deadline, and file your final declaration at year end. After each quarter you get a one-page, plain-English summary: what came in, what went out, and roughly where your tax is heading. No surprises in January.
The deadlines we handle for you (2026/27)
| Quarter 1: 6 April – 5 July 2026 | due 7 August 2026 |
| Quarter 2: 6 July – 5 October 2026 | due 7 November 2026 |
| Quarter 3: 6 October – 5 January 2027 | due 7 February 2027 |
| Quarter 4: 6 January – 5 April 2027 | due 7 May 2027 |
| Final declaration | due 31 January 2028 |
You do not pay tax four times a year under MTD. Payment dates are unchanged: 31 January and 31 July. Landlords with self-employment income file two streams — eight quarterly updates — which our Landlord + Sole Trader plan covers.
